City descritpion
With its Mediterranean flair, its unique attractions and its multitude of cultural activities, Barcelona is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe.
Famous sights include the Sagrada Familia designed by Antoni Gaudí, which attracts millions of visitors each year with its unique structure and the light effects of its windows. Other traces of Gaudí such as the famous serpentine bench at Park Güell or Casa Millà and Casa Batlló can be found all over the town. The historic quarter Barrí Gotic with its roman cathedral, narrow streets and hidden courtyards is worth a visit as well.
After sightseeing, enjoy a relaxing stroll along the Ramblas from Plaça de Catalunya to Port Vell or take in the panoramic view from Montjuïc which lies next to the port area.
Even more relaxation can be found at the beaches of Barceloneta, which can be reached by tube and are popular with tourists and locals alike.
