In southeastern Virginia, the more than 400 years old city of Norfolk is known for its rich cultural attractions and its excellent shopping facilities near the port.
Directly situated at the port is the Nauticus museum which gives insights into marine life with aquariums, movies and exhibitions. Towards the city center you can find the Chrysler Museum of Arts which is among the most famous art museums in the southeastern United States, comprising paintings of Paul Cézanne, Paul Gaugin, Andy Warhol and others. Numerous concert halls, theaters and the Harrison Opera House offer fantastic entertainment options while the Botanical Garden and the beaches are popular recreation areas.
