As the biggest and most successful cruise line in the world, Carnival Cruise Line carries more passengers than any other.
"Carnival - The floating resorts" is now very different from the company founded more than four decades ago. Carnival was launched with a converted transatlantic ocean liner and a dream of entrepreneur Ted Arison, a pioneer in the modern-day cruise industry who set out to realize his vision of making a vacation experience once reserved for the very rich accessible to the average person.
1972 - Maiden voyage of Carnival's first ship, the TSS Mardi Grass, which ran aground on a sandbank outside the port of Miami during this trip. The entertainment program born out of necessity to keep the passengers happy became a major recipe for success.
Today, Carnival Cruise Line has a fleet of 26 "floating resorts" and offers cruises at a premium price-performance ration onboard these 4-star ships.
You can find a Carnival ship in almost any American port. Since Caribbean cruises are very popular among European passengers, departure ports such as Miami, Tampa or Fort Lauderdale are particularly interesting. But New York, too, is always a good choice if you want to enjoy some days of relaxation after having visited the city. Of course, Alaska, the Mexican Riviera and even the Canadian coast are among the destinations as well.
